Irish eligible Josh Acheampong is establishing himself at Chelsea
The teenage defender has made a big impression of late
Did you know that Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong is eligible to play for Ireland? The London born 19-year-old has started the last three Premier League games, against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest (who he scored against) and Sunderland, at centre-half for Chelsea. Born to Ghanaian parents Josh does have an Irish grandparent so as things stand can still represent us.
The chances of Josh coming on board for the Boys in Green would appear remote however as he is an established underage English international. He has yet to play for the Three Lions U21s but has caps at every age group up to that level. Ghana, who have qualified for next year’s World Cup in North America, are also working hard to get him to switch allegiances before the tournament.
