Redevelopment at the traditional home of Irish football moves a step closer
Dalymount Park's upgrade has been a long time coming
Bohemians COO Dermot Lambert recently said that the 2026 League of Ireland season would be the last one the club would play in the current version of Dalymount Park. And by god the long suffering fans have had to endure a long road to its demise into a more modern take on a football stadium.
Things its seems are finally and inexorably moving in the right direction for the Phibsborough ground, which has been in the hands of Dublin County Council for a decade now. Last night that body voted to allocate the funding for the development of the old stadium.
That appears to be the last stumbling block to progress towards a 8,000+ capacity stadium, with just over 6,000 seats and just under 2,000 standing. The cost of the redevelopment is expected to reach €60 million with work now expected to begin in 2027, with a small chance it could begin as early as November 2026. ⚽

Another ridiculous stadium construction. 8000,capacity which includes 2000 standing. It will be outdated even before building commences. It should be on similar lines to Tallaght Stadium, 10,000 capacity, all seater ground, with a first class playing surface.
Dalymount a ground that once held crowds in excess of 30,000.
Tallaght was developed over many years, while remaining available to host games. Similar could be done at Dalymount. This country is incapable of building a proper stadium which properly carers for supporters and for the weather we experience in Ireland.
